The Village of Uploders
Uploders lies in the Asker valley under the spectacular hill-fort of Eggardon, and is just two miles from Dorset’s ‘Jurassic Coast’ and within easy reach of historic Bridport and fossil-famous Charmouth and Lyme Regis. Uploders is the eastern part of the parish of Loders where the 12th century church of St Mary Magdelaine is situated. Most of the houses in the villages date from the 17th to 19th centuries and are constructed of stone with thatch roofs. The River Asker, which runs along the bottom of the garden at Dippers, flows through both villages before joining the River Brit at Bridport which enters the sea at West Bay just a mile or so to the south.
